Difference between 316 stainless steel pipe and 304 stainless steel pipe

The most commonly used stianless steel pipe is 304 and 316 ( or corresponding to the German / European standard 1.4308 and 1.4408). The big difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel pipe is in the chemical composition. 316 stainless steel pipe contains Mon, but 304 stainless steel pipe does not. Due to the difference of chemical composition, we generally accepted that the 316 stianles steel pipe has better corrosion resistance, which means 316 stainless steel pipe is more resistant to corrosion in the high temperature environment. In the high temperature environment, engineers generally use 316 stainless steel parts and materials. However, this is not the so called situation. Under some  situation, for example, in the concentrated sulfuric acid environment, engineers will not use 316 stianless steel parts and mateirals.
