For each kind of test of seamless steel pipe, we cannot ignore X-ray inspection, manual ultrasonic inspection, surface inspection, hydraulic testing, ultrasonic detection and so on. However, today, we would like to talk about the bend test for steel tube.
What’s the relationship of them? Here is the list for it. And the main comparative point is the diameter with the relationship of bend test.
First of all, if a tube’s diameter has exceeded NPS 25, or the pipeline’s ratio of diameter to wall thickness is 7.0 or less, then we will consider that this kind of steel pipe should be subjected to the bend test instead of the flattening test.
Then, if the tube’s diameter just equals or exceeds NPS10, we can give the bend test in place of the flattening test subject to the approval of the purchaser.
Of course, for bent test’s temperature, it may shall be at room temperature through 180 without cracking on the outside of the bent portion.
